Key GrowthX values ✨
Positivity
GrowthX members are encouraged:
- to share positive news with the fam,
- be encouraging and supportive of fellow members,
- be appreciative and thankful,
- and refrain from taking an unnecessary jab at others.
Example → Reacting with positive emojis (like ❤️) on other members’ posts. Ensuring other members feel positive when they interact with you and your messages.
Structure
GrowthX members are encouraged:
- to be articulated in their asks from others,
- ask the whys & reduce the use of DMs (they limit learnings to only 2 individuals),
- follow all processes set and gear towards the outcome.
Example → When reaching out for help → ask on a public channel, be articulated about your ask and follow the set structure.
Paying it forward
GrowthX members are encouraged:
- to help others both passively (when asked) and actively (even when not asked),
- share their constructive feedback,
- share learnings received from others.
Example: If someone has a question that you can answer, do answer. Also, if your question is answered in a non-public forum (on a call etc) then do share your learnings with the fam.
GrowthX Code of Conduct ⚖️
At GrowthX, we aim to create an environment that respects individuals and helps in their personal and professional development. This requires each member to be treated with dignity, decency and respect in order to maximize their learning, development and value from the program.
Professionalism
GrowthX is a professional environment, and it is expected that members act accordingly. Professionalism is a theme that is expected to be followed in all interactions at GrowthX. In particular, when creating and joining Slack channels, participating in academic and social discussions, and via posts, comments, questions, and responses to others.
The creation of public channels is encouraged only when there is not an existing channel that covers the topic/interest. The creation of private channels is reserved solely for the GrowthX team.
GrowthX reserves the right to delete Slack/Forum channels and content (posts, threads, questions, comments, and responses) that are not aligned with our mission, values, or Code of Conduct. Additionally, inappropriate behavior on Slack, Zoom, and other platforms includes, but is not limited to:
Using channels or DMs for excessive solicitation/marketing or for personal gain.
- Calling attention to all community members using the @channel/@here function without explicit permission
- @’ing, and/or otherwise harassing, bullying, being disrespectful, inappropriately, or unprofessionally calling out individuals (members, team, and guests), whether in private communication channels such as Slack or on public platforms such as Twitter/LinkedIn
- Failing to follow the directions of members or guests (for example, continuing to post/comment when directed not to)
- Being disrespectful towards others (members, team, guests, and the program)
- Being a disruption to the community
- Spamming members, team, or guests
- Shopping for different answers (for example DM’ing multiple team members searching for an answer different than what you were given by team member)
- Misuse of channels - using channels for something other than the intended purpose.
- Misusing the contact details of members (mobile number, socials, emails etc) by unsolicited reach outs or sharing details without consent
- Violations on Slack, Zoom, Forum and/or other platforms may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to removal from the community.
Harassment
Harassment is conduct directed at an individual or group of individuals because of their race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, gender, marital status, age, disability status, genetic information or any other status protected by law that has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual or group of individuals employment or program experience or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.
Harassment includes any verbal, physical, or online conduct and includes, but is not limited to: slurs, epithets, or other threatening, intimidating, hostile, or abusive treatment directed at an individual or group of individuals as defined above. Instances of sexual harassment include the following.
- Unwelcome sexual advances involving verbal, non-verbal, or physical conduct such as sexually coloured remarks, jokes, letters, phone calls, e-mail, gestures, showing of pornography, lurid stares, physical contact or molestation, stalking, sounds, display of pictures, signs, or demand for sexual favours in both online or offline settings;
- eve-teasing, innuendos, and taunts, physical confinement against one’s will, and intrusion upon one’s privacy;
- any and all un-welcomed gestures having sexual overtones.
Resolution Process
Examples of incidents that the committee (formed by GrowthX Team and Community Members) would look into include, but are not limited to: harassment, discrimination, bullying, and threatening behavior. Of course, if you as a member are ever uncomfortable about an interaction, please let us know.
If any member brings any concerning behavior to our attention, the committee will work to determine if the behavior may be a violation of the Code of Conduct. If it is determined that there is an alleged violation, we will notify the person(s) accused, meet with them, gather information about the incident(s), and work to prevent reoccurrence or take appropriate action.
When deciding the appropriate action to take, the committee considers the severity of the incident, additional information (such as past behavioral history), and any additional context they may have. Actions taken to prevent future occurrences may be educational in nature or may include actions up to the withdrawal.
GrowthX reserves the right to immediately remove a member from the program without notice or opportunity for a hearing for behavior deemed to be disruptive to the learning environment and/or not in line with GrowthX’s mission, values and goals.
Scope
The Code of Conduct is also enforceable for incidents that happen outside of GrowthX that affect the GrowthX community, for example in person meet-ups, or on social media pages such as LinkedIn or Twitter. This includes incidents that happen prior to the initiation, or after the completion of official GrowthX programming.
If you see a member violating any of the norms set, please email them to bhavya@growthx.club & keep these two in CC. abhishek@growthx.club | udayan@growthx.club. Your name will be kept confidential.
