When I studied founders from top tier YC companies, one pattern stood out. It was their ability to hold attention for long periods of time. They could sit with hard problems longer, stay less reactive, and go deeper while others kept switching.

After my last startup exit, I expected to operate at my best. I had more freedom, more time, and fewer external pressures. Instead, my screen time increased, my focus fragmented, my thinking felt shallow, and even relationships hit a speed bump.

At first, I treated this as a personal issue. I began exploring attention and mental performance as a side project. I built a brain productivity drink aimed at high intensity cognitive roles and exam preparation. Athletes had sports drinks. Nightlife had energy drinks. There was nothing designed for sustained mental performance.

Regulatory constraints killed the project. The insight survived.

The real problem was not energy or motivation. It was attention leakage.

That realisation flipped the problem. Enhancing the brain was not the answer. Protecting attention was. What started as a side project became a long-term commitment.

People don’t lose focus because they lack motivation. They lose it in specific moments when friction is zero and habit takes over. That moment is the environment.

Jolt intervenes at that exact point. It introduces pauses, limits, and accountability at the moment distraction occurs, turning an automatic action into a conscious choice.

By changing what happens in those moments, Jolt changes behaviour over time, without guilt, hacks, or asking people to disconnect from technology.

We believe the next generation of high performers will not be defined by how much they do, but by how well they can sustain attention on what matters. Attention is the real leverage. Jolt exists to help people reclaim it.
