Engineering

Build with AI, ship it to real users and learn how products get distributed.

This path is for engineers who build

Who can use this feature?

To follow the full path, you need both:

  • An active GrowthX membership
  • Build Sprint access

Check your membership and Build Sprint access.

This path is for engineers who are actively building: AI-first engineers, growth engineers, forward deployed engineers, indie hackers, and engineers working alongside founders and product leads.

At GrowthX, engineering is about three things:

  • Building: ship real products at buildathons and in Build Sprint, next to other builders.
  • Distribution: learn how what you build reaches users, so shipping is not the end of the job.
  • Showcasing: put your work where the community can see it, on Built at GrowthX.

The courses support that work. Advanced Growth Strategy teaches distribution. Tech for Growth connects engineering trade-offs to product outcomes. The AI Skills 2026 engineer course covers building AI systems. There is no Elevate role guide for engineers.

What you need: Advanced Growth Strategy, the longer courses and Elevate are part of GrowthX membership. Events list their own access rules on each event page.

Learn by building at events

Go to Events and open the AI tab. Most building events are there. These are the formats to look for:

  • Buildathons: build a working product in a single day, often with a partner's models or coding agent, then demo it.
  • Builders Night Out: an evening room of builders. The goal is to ship something to production, not localhost, with demos at the end.
  • Showcases: builders demo real workflows live, with no slides.
  • Hands-on workshops: guided builds of one thing, such as an agent or an eval suite.
  • Research on Tap: a small table reads one AI research paper, then works through its method, assumptions and results with a researcher moderating.

Open an event and choose Register. Many building events need host approval. Until the host responds, the event shows Pending Approval.

Ship with Build Sprint and show your work

Build Sprint is GrowthX's current live building programme. You build and sell an AI product on your own. You lock one problem, ship it live, get real users and try to sell it. You submit a live URL, a public repository and your numbers. See Build Sprint for how it works.

Built at GrowthX at built.growthx.club lists products built by the GrowthX community, ranked by the people who build. Projects submitted through some GrowthX buildathons and programmes are listed there. Browse it before an event to see what others have shipped.

Shipping is half the job. Build Proof of Work in Elevate ends with a chapter on distributing what you have built. Use it to write up a project so people outside the room understand it.

Learn distribution with Advanced Growth Strategy

Advanced Growth Strategy is GrowthX's flagship growth course. It is recorded and self-paced. For engineers, it answers the question that comes after shipping: how does this reach users and make money?

  • Acquisition: channels, organic growth, content loops and referral. This is how what you build gets distributed.
  • Onboarding: how new users reach value in the product you built.
  • Monetisation: how usage turns into revenue.

Then

  • Tech for Growth: ship better products with engineering and take informed trade-offs, including building for mobile and building integrations.
  • AI Skills 2026: Engineer: build AI systems that work.
  • Tech foundations: front-end, back-end and data basics, if you are newer to engineering.

Watch these engineering deep dives

Deep dives are recorded sessions with builders. Start with these:

Watch one before a buildathon and try the idea in what you build that day.

Your first two weeks

Week 1: build

  1. Open the AI tab on Events and register for one buildathon, Builders Night Out or hands-on workshop.
  2. Browse Built at GrowthX to see what the community has shipped.
  3. Watch AI Engineering Playbook.

Week 2: distribute

  1. Work through the Acquisition chapter of Advanced Growth Strategy.
  2. Take AI Skills 2026: Engineer.
  3. Pick something you have built and write down who it is for and how they will find it.

When you are ready for a longer build with real users, read about Build Sprint. If you are looking for a new role, full-time roles at ₹12 LPA or more are posted in #post-a-job. You are already in it.

Patience—you’re about to be impressed.
